....

Yesterday, with superhuman effort, I managed to stay awake til about 11:30 pm. That was about the time it took for us to finish dinner, get the presents handed out, and everything else to wind down. I was so happy to finally get to bed, I didn't worry about setting an alarm, and I slept until 1:30 pm! 14 full hours of sleep! I hope my anti-jetlag efforts don't backfire on me!
By the way, Maman & Papa, I have had my first boite invitation. And I said no. Just so you know. :)
In response to Tatie's request, I will describe what delights have been sliding down my throat. (isn't that a lovely picture. you can't really tell what tone i'm using when you're reading this, but that was sarcastic, just so ya know.) They served us dinner and breakfast in the plane, but they were both defrosted, corn-syrup-filled, American atrocities. Then, on the way to Claire's home from the airport, we stopped at a Boulangerie-Patisserie (that's a French bakery that also sells pastries for those of you who don't know) and a small supermarket where I met with heavenly sights and smells. Then, in complete contrast with my last meal, we had lunch. Salad decorated with ripe tomatoes, fresh mozzarella, and homemade French salad dressing. Homemade (as nearly everything is here) spinach and salmon quiche. Heaven in a pieshell. And bread. The only white bread worth eating :) No, I haven't had any crepes, croissants, or p'tit pains au chocolat yet. Due to a small misfortune called exhaustion, I missed breakfast this morning (they probably wouldn't have had that anyway. they're so used to it that they probably wouldn't go out of their way to eat it). Oh, but I have had brioche! Yum. And Yaourt Nature. There was some sugar, but I hardly put any because I wanted to savor the unearthly taste of plain French yogurt.

You have quite a talent for writing Tacha! I'm getting very hungry from hearing about your delicious delicacies in France. Along with that your description of France really made me jealous!

I think you handled the jet lag better then I did. I sure didn't make it to 11:30 at night! I hope you recover quickly from it so you can enjoy yourself all the more.

I hope you're having an exciting time in France. I really enjoyed reading about your first walk around because it reminded me about my first walk in Italy.

Keep smiling, remember who are you, choose the right and made good decisions! Remember, only you can prevent SQUIRREL!

  5. hmm, that was proud, not pround. Me finger do the typing, not me brain, hence the occasional brainless typo.
