Prepare To Be Awed

Hello all!
I hope you're all deeply enjoying yourselves back in the USA. Right now, it's just a bit after 7 pm on my first day in France. I have probably slept a grand total of 8 hours in the last 48, and I am about to keel over unconscious. But my mommy and daddy told me not to take a nap the first day because it would guarantee bad jet lag. Here it's 8 hours ahead of Utah, so it's 11 in the morning if I did the math right.
My plane rides over here were smooth sailing. The flight from Salt Lake to JFK was chuck full of missionaries, which was pretty cool. On the second plane, I ended up sitting by a lady named Marie-France Hickman. She was something else. She talked to me for the first three hours of the eight-hour flight plus the last half-hour. The rest of the time I spent sleeping. She's a professional photographer. If anyone ever wants to hear her life story, just let me know :).
Here, everything is lush and green and humid. Small, cute, European-style stickshifts jet around all over on cramped, illogical, but charming roads loaded with roundabouts. Small shops and restaurants line the streets, and you can smell the salt in the air from the nearby beach. Pizza trucks wander offering their specialties "au feu de bois". Skirts are worn almost more predominantly than pants (among the girls) and huge palm trees can be seen at random throughout the area. The air is so humid that my hair is getting curlier and frizzier by the minute, especially my bangs.
I could go on forever like this, but I don't want you all drooling all over your computers. How thoughtful, I know. : ) (as someone i know would put it: i love love love it!) I'll get some pictures in soon. Please comment, I'd love to hear from you. Love y'all!
